A downloadable game

Being a muse is hard, often thankless work. To be an artistic collaborator is to bare your soul, to take risks, and to make sacrifices. “Nude on a Yellow Sofa'' imagines a creative partnership between two artists that is equitable, fruitful, and complex. The game uses the artmaking process to trace the trajectory of that partnership as it comes to an end, and then explores what comes after.

The game is played over the course of nine Periods, representing pivotal moments in the relationship between the characters. During each Period, the players discuss the evolution of the relationship between their characters while simultaneously creating works of art.

This game is inspired by Henri Matisse's Nude on a Yellow Sofa (1926).

This is wonderful! The thought of an examination of a relationship via their art before, during, and after? Brilliant. Putting it into a roleplaying game? I'm jealous of that sort of idea crafting; well done.

Very thoroughly fleshed-out (no pun intended) rules & instructions. This sounds like something that my wife and I might really enjoy, it's rare for me to find a game/activity like this that I think she'd dig. We were together early in our lives, and then kind of went through this and reunited 15 years later.  Thanks for sharing, I'll make sure to let you know how it goes if we play it. :)

Thank you so much for this lovely comment! I'm very proud of this project and I can't wait to hear about how your game goes.
